Alcohol and Beverage Law

The firm has extensive experience in all phases of alcohol and beverage law including contracts, administrative issues and licensing. The firm has acted as general counsel for the largest liquor retailer in the State of Florida for over fifty years.

Appellate Practice

The Firm conducts appellate work in the areas of Workers' Compensation, Commercial Litigation, Municipal and Local Government Law, and many other areas. Members of the Firm have been admitted in all State Courts, and many have been admitted in the Federal Courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Commercial Litigation

The Firm has extensive experience in all aspects of state and federal commercial litigation, representing clients in matters that include, property, contracts, banking, franchise, business fraud, foreclosure, collections, landlord-tenant and construction. While we are privileged to represent major companies in commercial litigation matters, we continue to represent small companies as well as individuals to ensure they receive the same high-quality representation that all of our clients have come to expect. We recognize that all commercial disputes are not the same, and we strive to understand the present and long-term objectives of our clients in order to provide them with effective representation.

Eminent Domain & Inverse Condemnation

The Firm represents property owners across the State of Florida in all phases of property acquisition, from simple negotiated governmental acquisitions to highly complex multi-party expert- laden litigations and appeals. Innovative concepts and techniques as well as traditional methods, are all considered in order to most clearly and cogently present claims compensation and to protect our client's objective.

Government Law

The Firm has broad experience in representing local governments and governmental agencies in all aspects of local, state, and federal issues. This challenging practice area requires detailed knowledge of governmental law, including civil litigation, appellate matters, comprehensive planning, zoning and land development, annexation, government financing, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, Bert J. Harris Act, bid/procurement, construction contracts, Administrative Procedures Act, Government in the Sunshine, ethics and public records law, real estate acquisition and contract negotiation matters, drafting and interpretation of ordinances, development agreements, and interlocal agreements. Firm attorneys have attended and continue to attend various and many municipal board meetings as legal counsel for such boards, including City Council/Commission, Planning & Zoning Board, Code Enforcement Board, Charter Review, Canvassing Board, Development Review Committee and Redistricting Committee. The Firm also represents a number of private land owners, businesses and developers in government law matters.

Labor and Employment Law

The Firm's Labor and Employment practice focuses on assisting clients in addressing employment issues before these lead to litigation. The Firm advises clients on effective workplace policies and practices. Training and education of management is critical to ensure this result. We provide clients with advice on daily workplace issues to help avoid potentially serious monetary exposure. However, if litigation results, the Firm has the qualifications and experience to effectively defend clients in such matters.

Land Use & Development

The Firm represents property owners, businesses and developers across the State of Florida in all stages of the land development and entitlement process. Our attorneys have experience in matters relating to quasi-judicial hearings, comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, special exceptions, conditional uses, variances, planned developments, development agreements, impact fee issues, platting and subdivisions, lot splits, transportation concurrency, school concurrency and other concurrency issues, annexations, vested rights, non-conforming uses, and local government code compliance. The Firm also has experience representing clients in land use related litigation and administrative hearing processes.

Motor Vehicle Law

One of the Firm's partners is General Counsel to the National Auto Auction Association, an international trade association, and has a broad range of experience in motor vehicle law throughout the United States.

Real Estate

The firm’s real estate team offers legal counsel to individuals, businesses and institutions acquiring, selling, leasing, financing, managing, constructing, developing and investing in real estate. The firm has extensive experience with a wide spectrum of real estate transactions from complex commercial transactions to simple residential matters. The firm also handles real estate litigation matters including contract disputes, landlord-tenant, title and boundary disputes and title insurance defense and litigation. We are agents for Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund, Inc. and Stewart Title Guaranty Company.

Our knowledge of Probate Law, Estate Planning, Real Property Law, and Estate Administration provides our clients with peace of mind such that they can be assured that they are getting practical sound advice in putting their affairs in order.

Workers' Compensation

The Firm represents self-insured employers, insurance companies, and servicing agents throughout the State of Florida in all aspects of Workers' Compensation Law. Our lead workers' compensation attorney is Board Certified in Workers' Compensation Law and he is recognized by the Florida Bar Association as a Specialist in that area. He performs numerous lectures throughout the State of Florida. Additionally, this specialized level of knowledge extends to the defense of catastrophic personal injury litigation. Our lawyers have experience in toxic exposure cases, sick building syndrome and other similar and unique litigation. Our Workers's Compensation attorneys have appeared before most of the Judges of Compensation Claims, and have learned the nuances of each judge. Our lawyers are skilled in efficiently handling all workers' compensation claims.
